On May 23, 2026, the Saturday edition of Dzień Dobry TVN addressed the issue of the high number of lower-limb amputations performed in Poland due to Diabetic Foot Syndrome (DFS).
The discussion, hosted by Dorota Wellman and Marcin Prokop, featured invited guests: Dr. Piotr Liszkowski, a medical expert in the treatment of diabetic foot syndrome, and Michał Figurski, a radio journalist living with diabetes and its complications.
During the conversation, the participants highlighted the difficult situation faced by patients with diabetic foot syndrome in Poland, including limited access to specialized treatment resulting from the small number of both outpatient and hospital-based medical facilities dedicated to caring for this group of patients.
